My name is Philip Steffen and I am the Brookridge Athletic Director. I am a proud father of two Brookridge students and 1 at Indian Woods.

The Athletic Director role is a PTA position created to share information with the school community. Part of the goal of the AD role for Brookridge is to foster a growing relationship with Shawnee Mission South.The South High School athletic director and principal want to get South sports competitive again, and for kids in elementary school to be proud to wear the green and gold colors.

One of the things we would like to do is make sure South athletes are growing up and playing on teams together as much as possible. Last year we implemented a database to help students and coaches in facilitating these relationships. This helped a number of people find new teams/teammates. This year, we will look to make the output available on our site to make it that much easier to reach out to each other.

We would like to know what sports your kids are playing, which league they are playing, and their skill level. If your child is interested in playing in a sport or looking for a team to play for we would like you to fill out the form and put free agent on the form; that way if you or any coaches are looking for athletes to fill out their roster or see leagues that others are playing in, they can go to our list and combine kids from the same elementary school or in the same South feeder schools on their team.

If you coach a team, hopefully you can use this to help find kids to fill out your team. Our goal is to get more kids involved with kids from the same elementary schools and South to form relationships with each other and start building lifelong friendships throughout school.
